Introduction

This international group, active in the insurance sector, is currently creating a new entity in the north of Brussels to centralize its international accounting operations. With over 20,000 employees across more than 20 countries, the group is experiencing strong and steady growth across Europe.

The Belgian structure, which employs around 180 people, is looking to strengthen its team by hiring a Senior GL Accountant ready to contribute to this collaborative and structuring project.

Responsibilities

Your Role - General Ledger Accounting & Analytical Support

Within this finance team, you will be responsible for the general ledger accounting of several entities involved in insurance cases and cross-border operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Full-cycle general accounting (entries, monthly and yearly closings, reporting)
  • Cash management and intercompany operations
  • Monthly and annual closings
  • Group reporting
  • Account analysis and reconciliations
  • Support in establishing a centralized accounting hub
  • Frequent communication with teams in Germany, the UK, and other European branches

Note: This position does not involve tax matters, which are handled by a separate team.

Profile

Your Profile

  • Experience: At least 7 years of experience in general accounting, ideally within an international environment
  • Languages: You speak and write English fluently. A good command of French and/or Dutch is also required
  • Soft Skills: You are autonomous, detail-oriented, and curious, with a desire to help shape a growing department

Tools: You are proficient with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) and Excel
