As part of its expansion in Belgium, with the recent opening of its 14th store, the company is launching a new project based in Brussels. To support this development, it is actively seeking a Head of Accounting.

Responsabilités

Key Responsibilities:

The Head of Accounting will play a strategic role in managing and overseeing the company's accounting and financial operations. The main responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring accurate financial records: Oversee accounting entries, ensure the reliability of financial data, and maintain accurate financial statements.
  • Preparing financial reports: Develop balance sheets, income statements, and annual reports, providing clear and precise analyses to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborating with auditors: Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure transparency and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations: Make sure all operations adhere to local tax and accounting regulations while staying ahead of legislative changes.
  • Managing financial closures: Coordinate teams to ensure timely and accurate monthly and annual financial closures.
  • Optimizing financial processes: Analyze current systems, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Providing financial insights: Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to deliver actionable recommendations to senior management.

Profil

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in accounting and financial management. The key qualifications and skills required include:

  • Educational background: A higher degree in accounting, finance, or management (bachelor's or master's level).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in an international or multi-site environment.
  • Excellent command of French, Dutch, and English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize complex financial data to support strategic decisions.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and proficiency with office tools, especially Excel.
  • In-depth understanding of Belgian and European accounting standards, as well as local tax regulations.
  • Proven experience in team management, with the ability to motivate and guide colleagues toward common goals.
  • Capacity to work autonomously while handling multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to identify and implement creative solutions to optimize financial processes.
